Our story
Every great journey starts with a reason. For us, Cross Country Adventures was born from five years of listening.
When we started Safari Goats Adventures, our vision was clear: to create unforgettable private safari experiences across Tanzania and East Africa. Over the years, we have welcomed travellers from different corners of the world and built our reputation around personalised journeys, experienced guides, carefully planned itineraries, and the freedom that comes with travelling privately.
But there was one question we kept hearing:
“Can I join another traveller?”
Again and again, travellers approached us wanting to experience a safari but had different reasons for wanting to join a group. For some, it was about the budget. For others, it was about their travel dates. Some were solo travellers who simply wanted to meet new people. And others wanted the excitement of sharing the African adventure with fellow travellers from around the world.
For years, we had to say no.
Not because we didn't want to welcome them, but because Safari Goats Adventures was created specifically around private safaris. We wanted to protect that experience and make sure our private clients received the flexibility, comfort, personal attention and freedom they booked us for.
Then we realised something important. There was another story waiting to be told.
There were many travellers who didn't necessarily need a private safari. They simply wanted a great safari, with great people, at a more accessible price — without compromising the quality of the experience.
That realisation became the beginning of Cross Country Adventures.

10A different way to experience safari
Cross Country Adventures is our answer to travellers who believe that an African safari should be something they can experience together. We created Cross Country as a separate travel company dedicated to small-group joining safaris.
Our groups are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of six travellers per safari vehicle. Because we don't believe that joining a safari should mean feeling like a number in a crowd.
Six people can share the adventure while still having enough space to enjoy the vehicle, take photographs, watch wildlife, ask questions, connect with the guide, and simply enjoy being in Africa.
You might arrive as a solo traveller and leave with friends. You might come as a couple and end up sharing stories around a campfire with people you had never met before. You might travel with a limited budget but still wake up to elephants, lions, wildebeest and endless African landscapes.
That's the idea behind Cross Country.

The name
The name Cross Country comes from another part of our journey.
Alongside our tourism operations, we are involved in the logistics business, transporting goods from Tanzanian ports to destinations across Africa, particularly throughout East Africa. Our logistics journey takes us across countries, borders, roads and destinations.
When we started thinking about the identity of our new safari company, the name Cross Country naturally made sense. Because that's exactly what we want our travellers to experience — not just crossing from one destination to another, but crossing borders, cultures, landscapes and experiences.
Today, our vision goes beyond Tanzania. We see Cross Country Adventures connecting travellers with the incredible diversity of East Africa — from Tanzania to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and beyond.

Our bigger vision
We don't want Cross Country Adventures to simply be a company that sells joining safaris. We want it to become a community of travellers who believe that some of the best memories are made when strangers become friends along the way.
Imagine meeting someone from Brazil at the beginning of your safari, sharing a vehicle with a traveller from Germany, having dinner with someone from Australia, and ending the journey watching the sunset together somewhere in the African wilderness.
You may arrive knowing nobody. But by the time the safari ends, you may have a few new friends, hundreds of photographs, stories you will tell for years, and a completely different connection to Africa.
That is the adventure we want to create.
