Mid-range joining safaris

The same shared safari, with a lodge at the end of the day

Still a joining safari — you share the vehicle, the guide and the cost — but nights are in mid-range lodges and tented camps instead of a campsite. Tell us which one you'd like and we'll come back with dates.

Camping or mid-range

Where you'll sleep

Every joining safari is one of two styles. The parks, the vehicle and the guide are the same — the difference is where the day ends, and the price.

Camping safari

Under canvas, at the lowest price

You sleep in a small tent at a public campsite inside or beside the park. It is simple and shared, and it is the most affordable way to be out there. This is what to expect:

  • Shared dining areas
  • Public bathrooms and showers
  • Public charging places
  • No electricity inside the tent

Mid-range safari

A room, a bed and your own bathroom

You sleep in mid-range lodges and tented camps. It costs more than camping and less than a private safari, because you are still sharing the vehicle and the guide. This is what to expect:

  • A private room or tented room, with proper beds
  • Your own bathroom with a hot shower
  • Electricity and charging in the room
  • Meals served in the lodge restaurant

We describe accommodation by its standard rather than by name, so that if a place is unavailable we can use another of the same or a comparable level. Not sure a joining safari is for you? Compare joining and private safaris.
